Hey all its sean (tippy procarbine /w the guppy hopper and small tank)
just wanted to get the word out that i will be writing up some scenarios for next season and would love to get some input from the guys playing. my goal is to create scenarios that are both fun and organized with clear rules that everyone can understand. any ideas can be posted here or emailed to me sean.plucinik@gmail.com. i will post any ideas i have here for you to read. please keep in mind the layout of eas as that will determine what can and can not be played. on a further note if any one has the overhead map of eas that would help me a great deal. |

So step one in creating a scenario less treasure hunting and more shooting. Nobody like a whole scenario when they have to search for small object. The reason the alamo scenario was so good was alot of paint flying.

with out a doubt finding things can suck. i was thinking of trying some newer ideas, like an escort or somthing along those lines. also i had an idea of having no reinsertions but medic's that revive people, but adding in rules of engagment ie can't shoot the medics, however if they shoot 1st they are free game. or penalties for shooting the other teams medics (war crimes or some crap like that) still thinking it out.

the problem with the medic idea is;
1) where do those who are shot go? 1a) how do you stop the team from camping those who are being "healed' 2) how do you enforce penalties for shooting medics? especially since you dont know which team shot the medic. I def agree on the hunting for items needs to either be restructured or eliminated; most times it is an easy way to define the rules of the game. I like the idea of an open discussion on here to hopefully move this forward, and I will log in from time to time to share my two cents. |

not sure about preventing camping
could use a point system for the overall scenario if your medic dies the other team looses points and i doubt you'll shoot your own because they are your reinsertion i'm not sure if there should be a dead box or just sit were you get shot. that could cause some issues for people that get shot on the trails and what not i like the idea of items in games but not actually finding them, like the 1 scenario with the boxes in the speedball zone was pretty good, although a bit 1 sided i'll further think about different ways to go about it. |

one thing i was thinking about is we need to have a point system of some sort and rewards for winning the actual scenario so people try to stick to the story line instead of the free for all it usually is. i was thinking about the winning team gets and extra raffel ticket or something along those lines.

the problem we get there, is that the teams are not always balanced since we try to allow for groups of friends to play together. which at times put groups of our regular veterans on the same team. we tried the point system before, it did not work very well. maybe with a different implementation it would work. I think a good idea would be a defense scenario where the defending team has to hold x props(similar to how castle conquest is run). The defending area would be the village and new fort.

That would be pretty sweet weldin as in running it like castle. Personally I loved castle when I went minus the bad paint cough cogh switch to draxxus. The one problem I had with the boxes was when the reffs didn't want to put any out because everybody from one team was not trying to get it since there leader johny lawarwnce was not there. Sorry about the spelling. But I agree about the defense idea we should try it for spring of 2010

our rates are far better than those of Skirmish, at our field you pay 10$ to play not $30.
Also our paint prices are much lower than theirs, 15 for 500 vs 35!!!!! really you are comparing apples and oranges, we do not have 300+ acres of developed fields. Sorry if I am coming across harsh, but I take offense to saying we are over charging. |
